A semester-long freshman program with near-peer mentorship

What makes it work:

Process actively, not just listen: Through journaling, discussion, and group reflection students transform principles into understanding, reasoning. and application.

Connect learning to real life: Students reflect on their real situations—like friendships or challenges—finding meaning and applying concepts to their own lives

Work through real situation: They apply learning to real decisions, relationships, and challenges they face making the learning immediately relevant to them.

Supported through mentorship: Peer mentors builds safety, accountability, belonging, and follow-through.

Built to work consistently across classrooms and schools as they engage in this process, students build thinking pathways they can apply across subjects—math, science, writing, communication and beyond.
