(according to University of Colorado Boulder)
Diagnosing/Treating Fields
Examples: dentists, optometrists, physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, podiatrists, and veterinarians.
Allied/Associated Fields
Examples: nurse, dietician, genetic counselor.
Rehabilitating Fields
Examples: audiologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist, recreational therapist.
Assisting/Adjunct Fields
Examples: technologist, technician, assistant, or aide.
Educational Fields
Examples: dietary managers, biomedical writers, mental health workers, health educators, health science librarians.
Administrative Fields
Examples: nursing home directors, geriatric care managers, health wellness coordinators, hospital public relations officers, quality assurance directors, medical secretaries, admitting officers.
Affiliated Fields
Examples: biomedical engineers, biostatisticians, social workers, epidemiologists, athletic trainers, environmental health scientists.
There are lots of positions at a hospital, and everyone adds to the team.
They all won't be emergencies, but people are counting on you to deliver the best standard of care.
Regardless of your role, everyone on staff contributes to the overall health of the patient.
